New Resident Information

Water & Sewer Service

The City of Wood River provides residents and businesses with both water and sewer services. New service connections can be conveniently scheduled during normal business hours for one of the following times: 8:00am - 8:30am, 12:30pm -1:00pm and 3:30pm -4:00pm. These hours are in effect from May 1 thru September 1. Water service can be turned on the same day as long as the request is made before the next scheduled time frame. Someone must be at the location during service connection in case of a leak or other unexpected emergency. A $60 non-refundable service fee is required of all new customers.

Applications for new service can be made through the Finance Department in City Hall located at 111 N. Wood River Ave. Hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday except for holidays. For further information, please contact the Finance Department at (618) 251-3131.

Trash

The City of Wood River contracts with Midwest Sanitary Services to provide regular trash and recycling pick-up services for residents. Businesses have the opportunity to contract privately for these services. Electric & Natural Gas Service

Illinois Power Company provides residents with both natural gas and electrical services. Residents can contact IP for service by calling (800) 755-5000.

Telephone Service

Ameritech is the local provider of telephone services. To establish a service, please contact Ameritech at (800) 244-4444.

Cable Service

AT&T Broadband is the local provider of cable service. To establish a service, please contact AT&T Broadband at (618) 251-2660.
